Four Things Meme

Here's a funny picture Mom took of me. Can you see the tippy-tip of my little pink tongue?

Aunt Dorothy, Mom Bean to my sister-cousin-friend Gretchen, tagged me for the Four Things Meme. Thank you, Auntie! This will be fun. I'm continuing to purr and purr and purr for you -- I'm so glad you've been feeling better!

4 Jobs I've Had:

Stray cat (no more, thankfully -- I'm a much-loved kitty girl with a forever home!)
Opera Singer (my stinky goodness arias, of course)
Poetess
All-around Kitty Snoopervisor

4 Movies Watched Over and Over:

Out of Africa
Somewhere in Time
Now, Voyager
Casablanca

4 Places I Have Lived:

Presumably, with somebody before Momma and Daddy
As a stray: in Momma and Daddy's back yard before I introduced myself to them
In the sanctuary room of Momma and Daddy's house before I met the other Ballicai
In Momma and Daddy's house! *smile*

4 Shows I Watch:

I don't watch TV shows, but sometimes I hop onto the entertainment center in front of the TV and take a bath. Mom and Dad make a joke of this. Whatever movie or show is on, they'll say, "Look, Marilyn was a part of (that police investigation)." Or "Marilyn was at Kora with George Adamson" (watching the movie To Walk With Lions). It was especially funny when I jumped up there while Momma and Daddy were watching The Asphalt Jungle, which stars my namesake, Marilyn Monroe! They could then say, in all truth, "Look, there's Marilyn, starring in The Asphalt Jungle!"

4 Places I Have Been:

To Mickeybear's house in my dreams, to snuggle with him on his wall... *happy sigh*
Sometimes *blush* I hang out in the litterbox, after Mom cleans it -- who knows why? Not even me.
On top of the refrigerator! Nice and high up!
On the weight bench. I have no intention of lifting weights (perish the thought). I just like to sit there.

4 Favorite Things to Eat:

Ice cream (Mom and Dad rarely let me have this, *sigh* -- they say it's bad for my teeth.)
Temptations
Greenies
STINKY GOODNESSS!!!!!!!!! (*ahem*)

4 Places I Would Rather Be:

On the wall with my Mickeybear
Snuggling with Mom
Rubbing against Dad's watch (I love his watch -- I want to adopt it, love it and hug it and squeeze it and name it George)
Away from MaoMao when I have the misfortune to have a dingleberry (he chases me -- oh, the mortification)

4 Things I Look Forward To This Year:

Writing more poetry for my Mickeybear (*hint* to Mom -- more computer time would be nice!)
Snuggling with Mom
Rubbing against Dad's watch (I really must think of a better name than George -- I think that's already been taken...)
EATING LOTS OF STINKY GOODNESS!!!!!!! (*ahem*)

For this meme, I will tag my darling Mickeybear!

The Seven Ps Meme

What fun! My friends Bounce, Lucy and Trixie tagged me for the Seven Ps Meme! This is a great meme. I've really enjoyed reading answers given by kitties who have been tagged so far.

Here are the rules fur the Seven Ps Meme:
In an attempt to get to know fellow bloggers a little better, this new meme was started called the 7 P’s. Fill out the 7 P’s and tag five blogs that you read on a regular basis. Have fun!

Passion -Oh, I have many passions. I am a quiet and serene kitty, but inside me beats a passionate girlcat heart! First and foremost, I am passionate about my Mickeybear. He is my darling mancat, my muse, and the music to which I dance. And here are my other passions, in no particular order: I'm passionate about poetry -- writing it and reading it. I am passionate about stinky goodness, for which I sing Operatic Stinky Goodness Arias. And I'm oh-so-passionate about cuddling, snuggling, and scritches!

Purpose -Well, the way I see things, I have several important purposes. One is to be my Mickey's steadfast and loving girlcat and his muse. Another is to be my Mom's Velcro cat -- I love snuggling in her lap, and I make her happy with my kitty kisses and hugs. And another is to keep my Dad well-rubbed. I love to rub on his hands and his arms. Yet another purpose is that of a Seeker of Scritches. I love Scritches. I seek them not only from Mom and Dad but from anyone and everyone who comes over. Mom calls me "love shaped like a kitty." So bottom line: my purpose is to love.

Pursuit – Well, sometimes I pursue coffee stirrers. All of us Ballicai fixate on the evil little creatures, and we love to bat them out of Mom's and Dad's coffee mugs and kill them. I don't know why coffee stirrers are so evil, but they are, and only kitties can perceive it, so we must be extra-vigilant, protect our beans, and guard them well. Sometimes I pursue bugs. And I am always in pursuit of stinky goodness and yummy things to eat.

Position -I love to snooze and sprawl on top of the stereo receiver in the living room. It used to be a JVC; these days it's a Yamaha, but what matters to me is that it's warm and cozy. I love to snooze on my purr pad, too. And on top of the dresser in the living room. And inside some of the packing material that came with Dad's new computer case. And *whispering* sometimes in my litter box. But most of all, I love to snuggle on laps. I spend a lot of time, in particular, on Mom's lap. My favorite position is to lie back against her arm as she holds me, so she can alternate between rubbing my tummy, rubbing my head, and giving me scritches. And it's an advantageous position for me, too, because I can reach around with my paws and give her hugs.

Pummeling -MOM'S BRAS! I love playing with Mom's bras. Really, Mom's bras are better than catnip! When I find one of her bras (and she leaves them out for me sometimes), I lie on it, grab it in my paws, chew on it and lick it, and then I wrap my back paws in it and BUNNY-KICK it! Mom calls me a silly kitty. I'm glad she doesn't mind that I make her bras a little bit soggy. After I play with them, she puts them in the wash. *giggle*

Progress -When December rolls around (December 1 is my Gotcha Day), I will have been in my forever home with Mom and Dad for a whole year. And before I came, my sisters Brainball and Dorydoo were the only kitties in the house. This past February, along came MaoMao. And over the time the four of us have been together, we've made great progress as siblings. We get along very well most of the time, and often, all four of us sleep in the bedroom together during the day.

Personality -I am quiet and outgoing at the same time. I guess you could call me an extroverted introvert. Or an introverted extrovert. *giggle*! I'm reflective, contemplative, calm, and serene. At the same time, I'm extremely affectionate with humans, and it's impossible for me to meet a "stranger": I don't have a shy bone in my body. When somebody comes over to visit Mom and Dad, I'm the first cat to check them out, and if they're agreeable, I wind up in their laps, purring, revving my engine to Warp Nine!

And I will tag:

My darling Mickeybear (he will be back soon -- *joyful purrrrs*!)

My friends Zippy, Sadie, and Speedy

My Sestina to Mickey

I love to hear my Mickey snort,
So I sing operatic arias...
Louder for him than for stinky goodness!
Dreaming and longing for snuggles,
I biggify my mancat's Full Monty:
This girlcat's lucky in love!

Speaking of being in love,
I think I'll learn to snort
Just like my mancat (mmm, his Full Monty)!
Together, we'll sing arias,
Enjoy whisker-lickin' and snuggles,
Anticipating stinky goodness.

But the joys of stinky goodness
Are second to those of love,
And right up there are snuggles
And a Manly Mancat Snort.
Hark, I'm singing arias
As I biggify that Full Monty!

An uncensored Full Monty
Trumps all stinky goodness
Again, here go my arias:
I siiiiing of joy, I siiiiing of love
I siiiiing of a mancat snort...
I biggify (again!) and yearn for snuggles.

A girlcat loves to snuggle
And she loves to see Full Montys
From her mancat: King of the Snort!
What is this, "stinky goodness?"
Yes, a distant second to love...
For love, I sing my grandest arias!

"Meow, Meeeeoooww" go my arias
"Mmmmmm, good!" are our snuggles
Mickeybear is my love.
I swoon at his Full Monty,
We'll dine on stinky goodness
And I'll smile to hear him snort!

My love, I sing you arias
Of mancat snorts and girlcat snuggles:
I give you my Monty, my heart, and my (stinky and non-stinky) goodness!

*giggle*, *wink*, *purrrrrrrr*, *blush*, and *big smile*!
(and Mom says "SQUEE!")

For more about the Sestina form, see here.
And darling Mickeybear wrote me a marvelous -- and adorable -- Sestina!

Proverb Meme

My lovely friend Daisy tagged me for a meme! I get to write a proverb. What fun!

A proverb is a simple and concrete saying popularly known and repeated, which expresses a truth, based on common sense or the practical experience of mankind. They are often metaphorical.

Here's mine:

When stinky goodness is imminent, sing arias!

To elaborate, I'm an uncommonly quiet cat. Most of the time, the only thing I say is *purrrrrrrrrrr* (and I say that a whole lot). But at Stinky Goodness time, I become the loudest and most talkative cat in the house (and with MaoMao as my little brother, that's really saying something!). When I get going, Mom says I'm singing my Operatic Stinky Goodness Arias, *giggle*. I really, really love to eat, and I really, really, really love Stinky Goodness.

Singing (with a nod to the movie Young Frankenstein)... "Ohhhhhh, sweet mystery of life, at last I've foooooooouuund you..."

*ahem*, just thinking about stinky goodness gets me carried away. It's almost as wonderful as my darling Mickeybear. Almost. But not quite.

Here's how to play the Proverb Meme: write your own proverb, link back to the kitty who tagged you, and then tag as many other kitties as you want.

And I will tag...

Tagged, and Millie's Wearing the Wig!

My wonderful friends Ariel and Ramses tagged me for a fun meme! And thank you, everyone, for your hugs and your kind and reassuring words about the spat I had with Brainball. It's been a much better day for us today. We've each been purring on our purr pads and getting lots and lots of extra beauty sleep, so perhaps we won't be as crabby with one another for a while.

Mickey, darling, I have become very fond of this position on the new receiver. It's so nice and warm up there, and the warmth makes a Full-Monty too tempting to resist! Funny how this new favorite position of mine always makes Mom say "SQUEE!" and pull out the camera.

What were you doing 10 years ago?

Mom and Dad didn't know me then, but I was a young girlcat, close to MaoMao's current age. I still had plenty of kitten in me and was less contemplative than I am now... I did more playing than poetry-studying.

What were you doing 1 year ago?

I was only a few months away from showing up on Mom and Dad's back porch and finding my forever home.

Five things you like to eat:

Stinky goodness, any and all flavors -- yummy in my tummy! I am normally a very quiet cat, but at stinky goodness time, I holler the loudest and most frequently of any of us Ballicai, even MaoMao (and that's quite a feat!).

Tuna, oh dear me, how delicious!

Temptations, especially the salmon flavor, mmmmm...

My malt hairball remedy -- goopy but scrumptious!

Did I mention stinky goodness? Oh, how I love to eat...

Five songs to which you know all the lyrics:

"I Got You, Babe" by Sonny and Cher *winking at Mickey*
"The Rose" by Bette Midler
"Your Song" by Elton John
"Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers
"La Gloria Eres Tu" by Luis Miguel

Five things you would do if you were a millionaire:

Build a glorious white house for me and Mickeybear with crystal catwalks, fragrant flowers, green grass gardens, and all the stinky goodness we could possibly eat

Build a bigger house for Mom and Dad so they could have more kitties and supply the kitties with all the stinky goodness they could possibly eat

Buy a whole island and designate it Cat Country -- all the kitties who don't have forever homes would live there with a least one loving human apiece to dote on them, plenty of human staff to see to their every want and need, and all the stinky goodness they could possibly eat

Supply every home who has a kitty with all the stinky goodness that kitty or those kitties could possibly eat

Buy up about forty trillion tons of stinky goodness (Mickey, do you think we could eat that much together? *wink*)

(Did anybody notice a theme there?)

Five bad habits:

Shredding the paper towels in the kitchen

Getting crabby with my sisters when they startle me (I'm a very sweet natured cat, but because I'm partially deaf, I startle easily)

Jumping on the counter when Mom is cooking

And really, I'm not trying to be a goody goody, but those are the only bad habits I have.

Five things you would never wear again:

I can think of only one thing: that awful *shudder* (dingleberry)... oh my, I am embarassed now...

Five favorite toys:

Cardboard boxes
Coffee Stirrers (all of us Ballicai are renowned slayers of coffee stirrers)
The stretchy-boingy monkey that hangs from one of the doorframes
Catnip mice (ahhhh, 'nip...)
Mom's bras

Five kitties to tag: I will tag Mickeybear (handsome mancat half of "MickLyn" (*giggle*, an adorable term courtesy of Anastasia) and I'll tag any other kitty who wants to play (I think Mickey has already been tagged, but I will take any excuse to touch his beautiful white fur -- a tag is as good an excuse as any!).

=-=

And look here, Darling Millie is wearing Anastasia's pink wig! Doesn't Millie look stunning. Pink so becomes her!
