A proverb is a simple and concrete saying popularly known and repeated, which expresses a truth, based on common sense or the practical experience of mankind. They are often metaphorical.
Here's mine:
When stinky goodness is imminent, sing arias!
To elaborate, I'm an uncommonly quiet cat. Most of the time, the only thing I say is *purrrrrrrrrrr* (and I say that a whole lot). But at Stinky Goodness time, I become the loudest and most talkative cat in the house (and with MaoMao as my little brother, that's really saying something!). When I get going, Mom says I'm singing my Operatic Stinky Goodness Arias, *giggle*. I really, really love to eat, and I really, really, really love Stinky Goodness.
Singing (with a nod to the movie Young Frankenstein)... "Ohhhhhh, sweet mystery of life, at last I've foooooooouuund you..."
*ahem*, just thinking about stinky goodness gets me carried away. It's almost as wonderful as my darling Mickeybear. Almost. But not quite.
Here's how to play the Proverb Meme: write your own proverb, link back to the kitty who tagged you, and then tag as many other kitties as you want.
And I will tag...
My sweet mancat Mickey
My sweet friend Gretchen

Oh, I knew it, I knew it. When I read Daisy's proverd...I'll get on in tormorrow post. Right now one comes to mind: When friend gets tagged, you know your next!
Or perhaps I should just be known as the psychic cat.
Hugs...G
I'm just not sure if I will come up with a proverb as good as yours and the other kitties. I don't think I will be very good at that.
I am loving this proverb meme! You did a great one. Thanks for playing!
Marilyn,
I really LOVE the new picture of you!
wahoo!

hmmm ... let me think about a proverb that is fitting.
Ah, I know one...
Don't count on squawb
Beforrre the eggs hatch...
(Don't count your chicks
before the eggs hatch)
Dove arrre like pigeons--chicks must be called squawb...yummy...

I have a before-eating song and an after-eating song. The before-eating song starts anywhere up to 90 minutes before my Official Feeding Times. It's a long one, with multiple parts like Bohemian Rhapsody. Sometimes wistful, sometimes rockin'. My after-feeding song is very low and dirge-like. I'm generally lamenting the fact that the time immediately after eating marks the longest point before I'll eat again (if that makes sense).
I love your proverb, mainly because it has to do with my favorite thing: food. :)
Very good proverb Marilyn! I don't sing Arias, but I certainly am vocal when I'm about to be served a meal!
it is only right to sing before a meal... i think you should record a cd of your arias!
Hi Marilyn, good proverb and good post about stinky goodness. Mmmmmm, stinky goodness, we just love stinky goodness.
Okay, I'm back to tell you that I did my proverb.
Thanks for thinking of me, hugs and purrs for a good day.
Waha....I love this one~!
That is very true~~~~
Great proverd~!!!!!
Marilyn, you have the best eyes ever. I really like your proverb about stinky goodness, it is one of my favourite topics too.
You made MomBean get that weird goofy look on her face again. Apparently you remind her of one of her past kitties she had as a little girl. He had different colored eyes and sat like that a lot.
What a sweet, warm fuzzy meme that is, Marilyn!
It even has a Zen-like, koan-ish vibe to it, non?
Sadie
Hi Marilyn,
Great proverb I love to eat too yet
I can't sing...Hugs Ariel
Great proverb, Marilyn. Singing for Stinky Goodness is a very good idea.
