Hugs Weekend

Here I am, taking a nap with my brother, Brainball, who is Alpha Cat of my household. I've been feeling a little off-kilter the last couple of days. Mom thinks my teeth are bothering me, so a week from Monday, I'm off to the vet to have my teeth professionally cleaned. In the meantime, Mom is keeping a close eye on me, and if other issues arise, I will go to the vet sooner.

It's Memorial Day weekend, and this past Thursday marked the sudden passing of the much-loved Bonnie Underfoot. My heart goes out to Victor and to Bonnie's family. And my thoughts and purrs are with them during this difficult, grievous time.

Thank you, Zoolatry, for the beautiful graphic.

In honor of precious Bonnie, it's Hugs Weekend on the Cat Blogosphere. I want to express my thanks to you, my dear friends and family. My life is immeasurably enriched by your love and friendship. To all of you, I send my warmest hugs and purrs, and my love always.

From Khalil Gibran -- Joy And Sorrow Chapter VIII

Then a woman said, "Speak to us of Joy and Sorrow."

And he answered:

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.

And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.

And how else can it be?

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.

Is not the cup that hold your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven?

And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?

When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

Some of you say, "Joy is greater than sorrow," and others say, "Nay, sorrow is the greater."

But I say unto you, they are inseparable.

Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.

Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy.

Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced.

When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.

I hope it is just that your teeth need cleaning and are bothering you a bit, Marilyn. That is a lovely tribute to Bonnie Underfoot. I love the quotation and think that it is very true. Lots of warm {{{hugs}}} to you and the rest of the Ballicai and your beans, too.

Oh my beloved beautiful sister! How kind of you to visit my special friend Lorianna and her little Miss Billie. You are the best sister in the whole world. I am ever so sorry that you are a bit out of sorts right now. Pray that the teeth cleaning goes well and you do not have any other issues now or ever!
I was overjoyed that the Ballicai came to see me yesterday on my Blogoversary! It was wonderful fun to snooze into Brainballs floof. Dorydoo is growing up to be a fine young lady and Mao is ever the charming jokster. My day was complete after your visit:)
Do enjoy your holiday weekend to the fullest relaxing and surrounded by love near and far.
Always your adoring sister Miss Peachy

It's better to get the vet to do it, the human tried to clean my teeth once with a toothbrush the vet gave her - she still has the scars to prove it. FAZ

I have hurting teeth too. You better go get them cleaned. My mom says I have to go too, but she is always afraid to take me because I have to be sedated.
Very nice tribute for Bonnie.

I hope your teeth are feeling better soon and it's nothing more serious than that... It's been such a shocking time looking Bonnie like that, we don't need any more cats getting all sick...
