More Mail for Miss Marilyn!

What a happy kitty I am! The other day, I got a beautiful collar from my darling Mickeybear, then the next day, what should arrive in the mail but a package from my precious sister, Miss Peachy!

Inside were all kinds of treasures. Here's a package of lemon tea -- see the inviting cottage pictured on the front? It's a lemon tea cottage! *smile* And Miss Peachy wrote my name on the door.

Inside the cottage I found lemon tea, Lady Grey tea, Vanilla Hazelnut tea, and peach tea on which was attached a precious note from Miss Peachy! *giggle* Mmmm... Mom loves tea; she will enjoy those scrumptious flavors.

Look what else was in the lemon tea cottage... a pair of socks for Mom! Mom loves socks, too. She never wears shoes in the house, but she always wears a pair of cozy socks. She will enjoy these!

And oh my goodness, look what else was in the lemon tea cottage! The most beautiful pendant Mom and I have ever seen -- Miss Peachy and her sweet Mommy made this Marilyn pendant for my Mom to wear so that I'll be with her wherever she goes, even when Mom is out of the house! What a precious treasure. Look, the Marilyn pendant's eyes are the same as mine!

Miss Peachy and her Mommy sent a lovely holiday card, on which was printed the Legend of the Candy Cane.

I'll reprint the legend here:

The Legend of the Candy Cane

The candy cane was created by a
Christian candymaker in the 17th
century who lived in a pagan country.
The government would not let the
people celebrate Christ's birth, so
the candymaker decided to make a
candy shaped like a shepherd's crook
to be a secret symbol of Jesus and
the day of His birth. He included
three small stripes to represent the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
and one large stripe to represent the
life that Jesus willingly sacrificed
for our salvation. The candy became
a double gift: a sweet treat and a
symbol for the True meaning of
Christmas!

And in the card was a beautiful picture of my sweet sister -- hello, Miss Peachy! I love you!

Look what else was in the package -- a marvelous book about my namesake, Marilyn Monroe! Mom was so excited -- she loves Marilyn and enjoys reading about her. And this book, Marilyn: Her Life In Her Own Words with photographs and commentary by George Barris is a delight!

Marilyn and George Barris collaborated together to create this book, and the photos and interviews by Marilyn were given shortly before her untimely death. This is a luminous and poignant book, one of the best books on Marilyn Monroe that Mom has read. Mom has already read it cover to cover, and it's a book she'll treasure.

Here I am, saying hello to my namesake! I think she and I would have gotten along well. *smile*

Mom and I thank you, sweet Peachy and Mommy, from the bottom of our hearts -- you're both such blessings, such wonderful treasures in our Box of Life!

I also want to say -- bear with MaoMao and me, my dear friends -- we Ballicai are behind on our visiting, but we will catch up soon, I promise!

Wow your mom was really spoiled and that BEFORE Christmas ! Did the tea smell nice to you ?? Mint flavour must be good for a cat, but it would be better for you if your Ma would drink tea made out of Catnip leaves !!

marilyn, you got some great mail today! merry christmas to you!

mom says that your snuggling--and the company of the entire ballicai crew--has helped. the nap she had this afternoon was great! when she woke up she had a couple of hours without coughing.

tonight, we had a great snuggle--the three of us--on the couch. i was on her chest, and lucy was between her knees, where suzanne liked to be. it made me say 'mmm', and it felt kind of like old times.
