"My, How Time Flies" Monday

Wow, this has really snuck up on me (and Mom), but my Gotcha Day is coming up on Saturday, December 1! I will have been with Mom and Dad for a whole year.

It hardly seems possible that the year has passed so quickly, but at the same time it seems I have always been here with Mom and Dad. I'm a lucky kitty to have found them.

I showed up on their back porch as a stray kitty, and Mom and Dad fell in love with me and I with them, so they took me in. They never knew where I came from -- I am an older lady cat (the vet, at the time Mom and Dad took me for my check-up last year, estimated my age to be anywhere from ten to twelve years old), and my personality was such that Mom discerned that I had lived for many years as an only cat. I am a sweet, cuddly bundle of fluff, very affectionate with people, but at first I was very nervous around my cat siblings, and I can still be possessive, particularly of my Mom. Pretty much anytime she's sitting down, I want to be in her lap *smile*.

When I showed up, Mom and Dad asked around to see if anyone had lost an odd-eyed white cat, but nobody ever claimed me, so Mom speculates that my first bean perhaps passed away or became incapacitated and that I was turned out as a stray, perhaps by uncaring relatives.

However I got here, what's important is that I am here, and for that I'm grateful. I love my Mom and Dad, my siblings, and my loving home. I count my blessings every day.

My siblings are throwing me a party here on my blog on Saturday, December 1, so everyone mark your calendar! I will make plenty of tuna puffs, and there will be all kinds of goodies and yummies of all kinds -- and fresh catnip and niptinis! *smile*

I realy picked a good day to stop over, Congrats on your one year anniversary with your folks. It is so lucky that you have such a nice home. I haven't visited before and must say I am sorry that I haven't gotten over here before. I noticed way back you visited me and time ran away. I have been so busy producing CCSI show on my blog and that took up so much time. Today I had casting calls for the second show that the whole day is gone. But I decided that before I ended my day I was going to look ya up. I hope we get to know each other better. I think you are so pretty cause you are white. We are opposite as you can see. I can hide in the dark and you can hide in the snow, ha. Hope you have a fun celebration on the first.

Miss Marilyn

We are so happy that you have found such a warm and loving home...I understand how hard it is for us 'older' kitties when we get turned out of our homes...I really do. BUT both of us are in much better places now, and even though I too (yes I admit it) have some issues with my other cat siblings, I am still grateful to be here.

Concats on your anniversary.

Marilyn, we're so very glad you found your wonderful forever home, or we might never have gotten to know you!

And never, ever worry about being older. Lucy and I are 18 now, and we like to think we're not getting older, we're just getting better! You're just as beautiful as ever and, besides, we mature ladycats can get away with whatever we want :-)
