Fang Friday

"The Tiger" - by William Blake.

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And What shoulder, and what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

Marilyn: Mom, do I look ferocious?

Mom: Ferocious? Of course not, Dually. You're yawning.

Marilyn: Darn. I was doing my best white tiger imitation. William Blake's poem inspired me.

Mom: Well, if it helps, you look adorable when you yawn.

Marilyn: Hrm. William Blake used the words "fire", "dread", "sinews", and "deadly." I am quite sure he didn't say "adorable." I suppose I must work harder on developing my ferocious side. (...But that will have to wait because I feel like snuggling. *giggle*)

To my darling Mickeybear -- thank you so much, sweet dear. You are my Cat of the Day every day, too!

Oh sister dearest....conCATulations on being cat of the day!!!!
Such a sweet profile of you:)
I didn't know you were a bit deaf on your blue eyed side....I would just call it selective hearing:)
Your other senses must be quite atuned?
I loved your Tiger poem.....
as always....your adoring sister Peach

I think that 'he' did smile to see his work when he made tigers and lions and cats!! You make a great white tiger, MM.

I dunno, I'm sure if you flashed Mickey a wink he'd fall over. So you must be a ferocious LadyTiger!

This is one of my favourite poems. Sometimes at night when I'm hunting luscious little mice I pretend I am a tyger, tyger burning bright. FAZ

Well, it could be a ferocious look if you wanted it to be. But I think you are too sweet and beautiful for that.

oh I think you are adorable and you can look ferocious any time you want! You know, my human adores that poem, she says it is so clever because it basically sums up the answer when people ask if you believe in God.

I just like looking at pictures of cute cats! xx

Oh, you're still up. I looked at our yawns again. I got Friday mixed up with Thrusday, duh. Anyway I judge your yawn to be more ladylike.

You look adorable.

I think you will be like a tiger when you hiss to someone or something, if your mom could take a picture when you are hissing, it would be really like a tiger.

But... I think it will be difficult, because you are so graceful~! let's not hiss, not like a tiger, just be Marilyn~
